When a Disney Legend meets the next generation of innovators... ✨🤖

Four of our amazing 7th-grade Androids—Violet R., Miles Y., Diego D., and Marcus R.—represented STEM Academy at the REEF Best Event Ever Night at the Fox Theater

Our 7th-grade teacher, Mrs. Lawrence, recieved a REEF Grant earlier this year to expand her robotics program, and our students got to show off exactly what they’ve been building as they greeted guests and demonstrated their robots. 🤖✨

The highlight of the night? Spending time with Bob Gurr, one of the original Disney Imagineers who worked alongside Walt Disney to design the Monorail and so many iconic attractions! Bob took a special interest in our students, sharing stories and taking photos before taking the stage.

Bob even personally introduced our team while footage of their robotics work played on the big screen!
